I'm looking for a little help here. Maybe a spread sheet of some software.
what I am looking to do is set up a schedule for the museum layout that will tell operators what engines to run and when. It sounds simple enough but I don't understand excel well enough to do it.
I may have to do it by complete train. This engine goes with these cars. This came to my attention when someone was using a Lionel snow plow to pull 5 aluminum passenger cars because it was on the schedule that way.
If anyone has a solution or can point me in the right direction I would be great full ....

Bruce,
I should be able to help with a spreadsheet if no one comes up with something more elegant. I’m away on vacation until July 5th so no access to a computer until I’m back home.
Send me a private message if you want to move forward and we connect when I’m back home.

That would be great Adam. Have a good trip.....

If you don't want to use an Excel Spreadsheet, why not consider a card system. Each train would have a card with scheduled maintenance and required run dates. A simple rack on the wall with a priority system of placement should make it easy for all of your members to use, whether they are computer literate or not.
I have designed systems like this for manufacturers I have worked with in the past.

Not a bad idea Brian. Though we are dealing with people who are completely train illiterate. If you throw them a curve, they freeze up. Having a meeting Tuesday will management. I'll run that one by them...

Bruce, I have created a spreadsheet for you. I have included operater, time in/out, route, engine, consist info with details, and operater instructions. You cmake changes and print for volunteer use or translate the info onto cars to give out. Send me a message if you need assistance in making changes by talking by phone. All others are welcome to use and ammend. Alfred

Thanks Asta.... Looks great. We did have a meeting today and management did admit there were problems but were working on them. I'll pass this along to see if it floats...
Thanks again..
