Wonder how long a thread about the Lionel Let's Go Brandon boxcars would last on the other forum ? Then again Lionel is a sponsor over there.

Wonder how long a thread about the Lionel Let's Go Brandon boxcars would last on the other forum ? Then again Lionel is a sponsor over there. Well, I think that there was one such thread, which according to a post I saw from the (other) forum's moderator lasted about one day and was taken down because of forum member complaints. (Which is the only reason I remember this, because the moderator's post suggested that everyone must know what this is about, and I certainly didn't, which resulted in me looking this up.)
That post has also disappeared, so it’s as though nothing happened - indeed, the product the thread was about was not even named. I infer it was these boxcars or maybe a different version of them with “Let’s Go Brandon” applied as graffiti over a Biden/Harris logo, that at one point was advertised on Legacy Station’s website. So somebody had a real gripe about this product, or maybe the posters went wild supporting it! Either way, it’s been made a flash in the pan.
If I thought that this was excessively PC I'd say more, but it's probably only worth mentioning for curiosity's sake. I'd much rather have a beer or PFE reefer, and I already do.

Wonder how long a thread about the Lionel Let's Go Brandon boxcars would last on the other forum ? Then again Lionel is a sponsor over there. Well, I think that there was one such thread, ... I infer it was these boxcars or maybe a different version of them with “Let’s Go Brandon” applied as graffiti over a Biden/Harris logo ... The bru-ha-ha was caused by cancel-culture elitists on the other forum, after Pat's Trains posted the announcement of his special-run "Let's Go Brandon" MTH Premier boxcars. MTH had also sent out their broadcast email about the special-runs as well.
I missed the thread, because this all happened during the Allentown ATMA show weekend where I was working. But I heard all about it. Apparently AA posted a diatribe stating products like that should never be allowed in our hobby. The flare-up backfired -- as it often does -- and Pat's phone was ringing off the hook (in a positive way) the entire weekend of the announcement. Even the following Monday morning, it was tough getting through via phone to the store. Bottom line... it was much ado about nothing. People will buy what they like regardless of who's telling them what's politically correct or not. In fact, the more the PC folks whine, the more interest they generate about said products.

I really like that METCA Christmas steam engine. I agree the darker gray in the picture looks great. Might have to pick that one up. Attachments:

Don't know if these have been posted before but pats trains has two new 36' refeers, the first is Apache beer and the second is Mail pouch. Both have Indian chief heads.
Not sure if either is prototypical but they sure are attractive. They are ready to ship. ( no, I have no connection with Pats trains)

Here’s another winning MTH 36’ reefer from the NJ Hi-Railers Club. I missed the earlier run of this car a few years ago, but I was lucky enough to sneak in under the wire for this special-run. Two road-numbers were offered. Fabulous detail without the overly delicate issues that often came with Atlas-O reefers.

( no, I have no connection with Pats trains) Dave I have an earlier version of the Mail Pouch one, which is a barnside advertising poster that really pops on the side of the car. Only reefers of this kind and a few sound-equipped cars form part of my very small freight fleet. This is the same car on someone else's layout:

Thanks Joe. The engine is brand new -- just released as a Pat's Trains MTH special-run offering. I wanna say the bobber caboose is an older MTH special-run too from a train shop in western PA that's no longer in the state (Imperial Trains?). The MTH Cambria & Indiana hoppers were released as regular catalog'd products about 5 years ago -- two 6-packs and 2 individual cars.
