Some RK cylindrical fantasy hoppers from Pats trains, they look great and should be big sellers.

Last Sunday I was working my Allentown ATMA booth solo, so Stu from METCA was kind enough to bring over two of their latest club special-run hopper cars done up in Bethlehem Steel liveries. What a guy!!!! Thanks so much, Stu!!! Here are the two MTH cars I purchased. Very pleased with the detail level… and they’ll go along nicely with other Bethlehem Steel rolling stock already on the RR’s roster.

Not sure who the seller/dealer is, but on ebay at the moment there are Lionel "Let's Go Brandon" boxcars, Lionel item item numbers 2238171 and 2238172. Looks to be Lionel's made in the USA custom series boxcars.

Possible this is a custom run by a private individual. No mention of an authorized dealer I’m aware of in the listings. Lionel’s website, nor its online store, nor Google seem to know anything about those SKU’s. Of particular note — the second car 2238172 is only made in quantity of 10.
So proceed with caution, if you’re looking for an authorized product. Lionel strikes me as far too woke a company to produce something like this being a dig against Joe Biden. More something that MTH would do… and is in fact doing thru Pat’s Trains.

Judging by the boxes, labels and mailing cartons, I'd say the Let's Go Brandon boxcars certainly looks like an official Lionel product. Lionel doesn't always promote all of their uncataloged items. Over the years there have been more than few items that have shown up under the radar. However, does kind of suprise me that Lionel would produce such an item that as David mentioned as being a dig against Biden.

RMT just send out mail that they are doing a new tooling of wood chip cars. Pats has a custom pack of four West Virginia lumber companies that I may have to pre-order. www.patstrains.com/View_Details/?ID=67498

Was talking to Pat’s Trains today and we confirmed those Lionel “let’s go Brandon” boxcars are indeed legitimate Lionel products… done for an individual who’s now selling them.
I believe these are 6464 style Lionel boxcars — not scale PS-1’s. So I have my order in with Pat for MTH Premier boxcars.

There is 2 versions of the Lionel Boxcar on Ebay. One with a black door and one with Red door. 146 done in black Door and 10 in the Red Door. One with Red Door is double in price! Appears they are numbered on the outer box but I no mention if it numbered on the Boxcar itself. They are assembled at Lionel in Concord NC like the other Made in America boxcars. The other side of the Black Door Boxcar. Not something I care to have but someone is making a few extra $$!

.... There is 2 versions of the Lionel Boxcar on Ebay. One with a black door and one with Red door. 146 done in black Door and 10 in the Red Door. .... This reminds me of the Greenberg price guides of days gone by, where "variations" were documented in an attempt to help the rarest of variations command ridiculously high prices. So not interested in playing those games anymore.
Look.... I wish the guy who had Lionel make these 6464 boxcars all the best. But I'm planning to buy Pat's MTH scale offerings instead. Different strokes for different folks I guess.

I'll say. You must have missed all the excitement, when the announcement of Pat's special-run was posted over on the other forum the same weekend as the Allentown ATMA show. So it's been a couple of weeks now. To no surprise, the thread over there is long gone... swept into AA's infamous cyberspace bit-bucket. But I think there still might be a thread here on OGF that was locked after most folks had an opportunity to respectfully comment.
