Its fun running trains in the backyard when the weather breaks... I cracked the throttle this morning and these appear from my flower bed:
Funny thing is sometimes it takes quite a few hours before it makes it around the loop.
The backdrop took forever to get right!

Nice effort JDaddy. However, not very realistic. The trees are a bit on the bare side. You are also missing the 3rd rail, which tells me you shifted over to HO.

The Mrs. always tells me to turn the sound down and the smoke off... I have tried but I think my remote is NOT working...

I can understand leaving the trees bare. The cost of flocking from Scenic Express would be astronomical. I am impressed with how you hid the power drops. I guess you rented a trenching machine?

Perfect for a train fan. Portland and N. Conway is as close as we get to this.

Only bummer is I don't have any steam engines to run.

The real fun is when he ties his daughters to the track. The screams sound so real.

I smiled to myself seeing this and remembering how us grown men ran outside from a Detroit 3-railers meet at John’s house to watch the backyard action. John is such a good modeler though that he is getting close inside with realistic views like this.

JDaddy,
You need to add a few cars to your outdoor layout to increase the realism and interest factor. Maybe some sports cars, classics and muscle cars.
