I love following layout threads. Andy, I'll be interested to see what the grade is from your lower level to your main level.
Thank you for sharing!

Thank you Joe (JKP). Joe that means a lot coming from someone who knows the area. I’m happy to post here. Thank you Brian, I’ll post some shots of the benchwork next.

Brian, to answer your question, the grade is about 1.7 percent. Not too steep but enough to get the height I need.

Thanks Joe. I used a 4’ straight edge for the longer runs. The Atlas track has a mind of its own sometimes.

Andy, taking you way back in time... What did you cover the joints in the homasote with or did you leave them alone?
Like the engine selection.
Thanks,
Bill

Andy, you have an excellent collection of engines. I remember seeing all the diesels but not the steam engines. I was very little when steam made it's last run on the LIRR and don't remember it. I love the Dashing Dan herald.

Andy, beautiful track work for sure. This is going to be one impressive layout. What a treat for us to get to follow your progress.
Your livery of engines is also quite impressive. It is a real treat for us to have you as such an active member of the OGF.
