73 Mustang. My dad had one in blue from the same year. I was 3 on the last day that car was drivable. Apparently I always wanted to sit in the front seat. But this one day I wanted to sit in the back seat for some reason. Good thing I did because the front passenger seat was destroyed when dad slammed into the side of the icy bridge.

The car show topic is a great idea. Folks have some really nice vehicles. Mine are tucked away for safe keeping while I am still in the heavy construction phase of the layout. I did want to point out that Menards cardboard boxes that freight cars come in are just right for storing vehicles. Each box can hold about 7 cars or small trucks. I have about 8 of them filled and stacked under the layout for the time being.

"I feel I went overboard a bit on buying cars."
No such thing, Rich.

Today I want to spotlight Buby of Argentina "Collectors Classics" line of 1:43 car models. Shown are the '56 DeSoto, '54 Mercury, '53 Ford, and '46 Lincoln Continental. They also made a '55 Chevy, '56 Packard, and a Avanti. What makes the Buby models stand out is: 1. Level of detailing for a $20.-$30. 1:43 car. 2. A choice of up to 8 color combos per car brand. 3. One of the very few to offer top-up, as well as top-down convertibles. 4. The neat feature of the signature of the person who put it together, in this case, Rosa. These were only made for a few years, back in the 70s. Considering all the color combos, I have a total of 29.

I have a few of the Buby models and they are quite nice for the price. Thank you for showing them, Joe.

Joe H has an excellent take on this continuing thread. His idea is to make it educational in terms of how best to use vehicle on your layouts and to better define differences of models that are available to us. I could not agree more with Joe. So today, I am posting a photo from our layout that demonstrates how we used taxi cabs to give the feel of a busy Grand Central Terminal. Vehicles can add so much to a scene whether it be a parking lot, roadways, drive-in theaters, or other areas where vehicles would congregate.

Okay I do not own this but came across it. This has to be the best Bat Mobile yet.

I agree!
More generally, I really don’t have space for many cars (or trains for that matter), but Brian and Bill have prompted me to add a few for display purposes. This Coke wagon, or whatever it’s called, is probably my favorite:

That is a really sharp looking Coke truck. I picked this one up not long ago.

The Coca-Cola Fountain Truck is a real winner, Andy. Super nice model.

I've accumulated a lot of cars. The ones parked in front of the diner are my favorite.

Your vehicles, Denny, certainly improve each scene.

Back about 2 weeks or so ago I showed you all a stake body truck ( red ) with pigs in the back. I got at Kroger. Well, I went there again today and this time they had a black Stake body truck with cows in it, so I had to buy it also for my farm.
So now I have a truck with pigs and one with cows for my farm
