Anyone know anything about the PRR emblem on this boxcar?

“West Shore” was the name of a defunct mainly New York State railroad that at one time ran from New Jersey north along the Hudson and then west to Buffalo. According to a footnote in Wiki, the line eventually became part of Penn Central but had much earlier been taken over by the NYC.
That is certainly a keystone emblem and must indicate some connection with PRR but West Shore in railway terms seems only to relate to what’s described above. By the lettering on the car it might have a production date of 1984 but I’ve found no reference to it in the K-Line legacy catalog - otherwise it looks to me like a K-Line car. Do you know if it is a K-Line model?

I only know AHM for HO models but I understand that they produced some O as well. As they went out of business in the mid-1980s this car must be pretty old. If the seller has the box available that might tell you something about what the car is intended to model. The emblem is intriguing but simply rings no bell with me.

Hmm. I wonder, could this railroad be a successor of the line built by the PRR to threaten Vanderbilt's NYC in the 1880's?
In that period, a group of investors led by Andrew Carnegie began construction of a (the South Penn) railroad to rival the PRR's route across the Commonwealth. The PRR reacted by beginning a line on the west shore of the Hudson River. Eventually, financier J.P. Morgan brokered a truce between the PRR and NYC. Under the terms of the truce, the West Shore was ceded to the NYC and the South Penn was sold to the PRR. Work on the South Penn immediately ceased and some 60 years later, its roadbed became rough guide for the Pennsylvania Turnpike.

Plus, you can make out the lettering on the car that says, "When empty return to Lewisburg, PA." So this will likely be a representation of their rolling stock. The Keystone probably reflects their Pennsylvania base of operations.
The robber baron saga of the old "West Shore" railroad is still intriguing, however.

In 2019 two friends (who have written 2 books on the PA Turnpike) led a tour of the abandoned turnpike section between Breezewood and the Sideling Hill rest area. The tour included a hike through Sideling Hill tunnel and a detour onto some of the remains of the old South Penn Railroad roadbed. That was one of the best days of my life!

I believe that those two areas were exits on the PA Turnpike the last time I drove it. And earlier, when growing up and being driven by my parents along the same route, I always thought that “Breezewood” was a name for a place near Los Angeles, California.
