The '59 Dodges look MUCH better, plus they are the same brand and year. It drives me nuts to see '51 Buicks with '55 Fords. I know just what you mean. One of my RailKing carriers came with two 1953 Cadillacs and two 1949 Fords. I can’t imagine why MTH didn’t put either four Caddys or four Fords on the car. Great work on adding detail and interest, Joe. Those nondescript Lionels ( cross between Checker cab and a 55 Packard ) look better half hidden anyway. The mismatched company loads is cringeworthy but coincidentally, one of the manufacturer's photos of the real Evan Auto Loader is staged with cars from various companies. Note the white stripe on the boxcar door in the photo with the DeSoto's...an indicator that the car is for automobiles and outfitted with loading racks. Bruce Bruce

I didn't know about the white stripe. I was also thinking that putting the Lionel autos in a boxcar where they are partly hidden would be better but they still look lousy. I think Wood is onto something when he suggests crushing them and using them as a scrap load in a gondola.😂

This is a poor picture but shows a trailer load of scrap cars and metal. I have the same problem as JDaddy: "When my son was younger and used to play with the trains more, I notice all my cars on the layout were disappearing... then as I notice running my trains as I started and stopped them an odd clunk would emulate from my 50' Lionel Autobox cars... sure enough every car of the 30 car train had two cars in it!" My grandkids are always reshuffling people cars and animals all over the layout. I always say, "It's a toy train layout, let them have fun."
