I apologize for not posting much here or responding to OGF lately. I have a lot of things going on + family matters. But to post something, here is a video I recorded last week on Corner Field Model Railroad Museum of Lionel Conrail T1 #2101 with Conrail ES44AC #1978 departing with Schnabel Cars & Other Electrical cars on Corner Field Model Railroad Museum.

The T1 is a workhorse. I have an older conventional T1 and it’s bulletproof. The T1 in your video is a huge leap forward in features and the paint scheme is striking. Well done.

This engine has become an instant classic. Very cool!
Could be the first fantasy engine to take the title this year. Will be interesting to see how well it does.

Tom, that was a nice run. The T1 has great smoke, steam, sound, and light effects! The transformer and generator cars look great! And there is even a caboose!! Yay!
As an aside, I was able to watch the riggers unload a huge transformer from a lowboy car and onto their multi axle trailer at Possum Point Power station delivered by the RF&P just on the other side of Quantico Creek from Quantico Marine Base back in the '80s. I was responsible for the fault protection and control circuits. The transformer was delivered to replace one that had failed months earlier. They slid the massive three phase transformer off the rail car and onto their trailer, then had to drive it up a short hill to the transformer pad where the failed one had been removed. It was impressive.

Adam, I think it will definitely take the title. Ugly montstrosoties like the ATSF 3000 and the N&W Y6B don't stand a chance against this beauty.

Not so fast.... I have some very cool trains I’ve submitted for the Big Country conference. I hope you’ll all agree, when they’re unveiled!!! 😉😉

I decided to treat myself to the Conrail T1 locomotive at Hennings Trains in PA, because I’m committed to helping local businesses survive. It might cost a few dollars more, but I save in shipping costs AND the guys at the shop will test the locomotive right in front of me.
Unfortunately, one of the front marker lights on the boiler is dark on the only model they have in the store’s inventory. So Bill is gonna look into it for me, before I take this gem home. Everything else checked out fine.
Too many quality issues these days to risk mail-order or online purchases of the big-ticket items. Plus it’s nice to support a local train shop that’s a nostalgic throwback to my childhood days.
