Nice!
I have many, many Christmas movies on DVDs, but I would rather just see them on regular TV.
I am too lazy to pull them all out...lol.

This years HALLMARK offerings are supposed to be a little different than those from previous years. I didn't think there was any more room on that bandwagon.

Last year was one of the best for Hallmark Christmas movies. Hopefully, this year they are not "off the walls".

"Oh no! I need to get started on my list to Santa!"It's time, I know of something that should be on the very top of your Santa's List. It is on mine. Many of our members may feel the same way.

A couple of years ago my bride and I started watching the Hallmark channel. I fell right into it. Last night I told her that it is so nice to see and hear stories with happy endings and a cast that projects civility. We do not hear much of that in the current daily life of our world. I'll be looking forward to the Holiday premiers.

By the time Christmas actually comes I'm chocking on holiday movies. What has pretty much disappeared from TV are the holiday concerts. Now those were something to sit back and enjoy.

For those that want to get away from everyday tension, starting Saturday at 8PM EST, Lifetime and Hallmark channel are having each, their Holiday Movie premiers Kick-offs. So from the title of this thread, “The Holidays start next Saturday,” with Hallmark’s holiday movies premier? Uh, not in this house. Our holiday season starts with Thanksgiving Day, when the Santa Fe Super Chief comes off the layout, giving way to the Polar Express train. It runs on the layout until New Year’s Day, then it’s replaced by the Super Chief again, until the next Thanksgiving.
Being the traditionalists we are, our holiday season includes Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Day. It does not include whenever the Hallmark Channel decides to start showing its new Christmas-themed TV movies or Halloween.
Hallmark has been showing Christmas-themed movie reruns since July, so in essence, we seem to get their Christmas movies all year-round. They did have some good ones last Christmas though and we’re hoping this season’s new ones will also be good.
We just don’t believe in starting the Christmas season prematurely before Halloween, as is the trend these days. 🤔

Yeah, need to get through the 1st Major holiday of fall and that is Halloween!!!!
We'll worry about Christmas when the season officially starts, NOON on Thanksgiving Day when Santa arrives at Macy's in NYC......even thought it's probably "virtual" (which is BS), THAT'S when Christmas Starts.........
And Christmas movies/programs we have on DVD and GLORIOUS 5.1 Surround include:
A Charlie Brown Christmas
Miracle on 34th Street (NOT that horrible remake)
It's a Wonderful Life (Our personal favorite)
The Polar Express (Naturally!!!)
It Happened on 5th Ave (It's a GEM, really)
A Holiday Affair (All because of a Lionel....lol)
That's our list.........another month and we'll fire up the classic Christmas tunes and DVDs......

The 1949 black and white original with Robert Mitchum and Janet Leigh is classic. It debuts Lionel’s Santa Fe F3s, but older passenger cars, because the matching aluminum ones were a ways away.
The 1996 remake of Holiday Affair with Cynthia Gibb and David James Elliot is also worth watching. It features Lionel’s Amtrak set with F3s, the TMCC Cab 1, and aluminum cars.

Bad news and I’m very upset about this. ABC will not be airing any Charlie Brown holiday specials this year. First time since 1965 they will not be on broadcast tv. If you want to watch them you will need to stream them on Apple +.
