How about your best looking locomotive. We've seen a lot of members suggestions for the least appealing loco (I can't say ugly ). If we have done a best looking loco thread before won't hurt to do another one . I'll pick my newest addition ( I did a thread on before), I do think it is my best looking.

Picking my most attractive loco is tough but I'll go with my green cigar band NYC E8s

Nothing can surpass the grace of a Western Pacific RR GS-64 with added smoke deflectors!

My favorite is any of the SD70ACE and any of its variants and paint schemes.

I can't decide if the Commodore Vanderbilt or the Dreyfuss Hudson is my best looking, most favorite steam engine so I got one of each.

I'd call that a stalemate. Both beautiful locomotives.

The best looking loco? In my opinion, the best looking one would have to be a diesel passenger locomotive. Most steam locomotives are too ancient and utilitarian-looking, with the exception of the Dreyfuss Hudson. Now THAT was a fairly nice looking locomotive for a steamer. Freight diesels still look too utilitarian and rightly so: they haul freight. But the best looking loco is the EMD F7 in Santa Fe's warbonnet livery. They made a seamless blend with their booster units and passenger cars, making the Santa Fe Super Chief pulled by F7s the best looking passenger train ever. So, there you have it. 😉
