I was going to purchase a MTH Amtrak Genesis, but we discovered a leak in my washing machine that has damaged the subfloor. So we are going to Home Depot in Benton Harbor to look at a new one. There goes the money for a new engine.

I Like the Don't Do It Yourself game plan, Denny. Like Laz, a kitchen reno has previously been performed in this cabin. My labor there was in exchange for real estate rights in the attic. The agreement hasn't been completely fulfilled yet as there was a claus stating ALL trains will be moved upstairs. My main fear now is the inevitable next reno always looming. Lord help me !I

They started on the floor. We went to Home Depot and got a lighted ceiling fan, a sink and fixtures. Plus a new washer and dryer combo. Attachments:

You better have a sunset clause in this agreement that sets a date when train purchases can begin again. These projects have a way of growing exponentially. Washer and dryer, new appliances, den furniture replacement.
Don't ask me how I know.

Washer and dryer, new appliances, den furniture replacement. Don't ask me how I know. Bill, I know how that goes! In our last home, replacing a broken recliner turned into a whole new double recliner, chair and love seat, a huge new tv entertainment center, new carpeting, painting the entire first floor and refinishing the hardwood floors. Otherwise, we didn't do much. Denny, beware!! Get as many trains as you can while you can!!

Denny, Denny, calling Denny. Have you gotten lost in the new kitchen or gone back to work to pay for it?
How’s it coming?

They painted the walls. I think they're going to install the cabinets next. The plumber still has to hook up the water and drain. That's Stew inspecting things.

They installed the cabinets. We still have to shop for handles and knobs.
