I sold a Williams 5-car Santa Fe red stripe Crown Edition from the 1980s awhile back for $200.00 on eBay. But this set was the bright anodized aluminum finish. Yours appear to be the duller, painted finish. Not sure what those could go for. Demand for the shorter 16 inchers appears to be waning. The only reason I don't use the 18 inchers is because I have all 031 curves on the layout. Good luck.

If your confident in taking apart and putting back together. Try using Wrights silver polish on them, It was recommended to me for lionel 2530 - 2534 Aluminum cars and they came out great.

Although I have just a few Williams cars, I think that the price range Brian and Vern have given is right. People do look for unlettered, sub-scale cars. The finish of these is a mystery to me; it looks like paint, in which case metal polish is best avoided! But you should be able to tell fairly quickly if it is or not.
Do the interior lights work?

HI yes, lights work, I restored them awhile ago. the ends are painted plastic, the body are pure anodize aluminum. AG.

Well, I think that the finish was probably not intended to be reflective - it would stand out a lot from the plastic parts including the end caps, vestibule/rear observation doors, dome and probably also the rear roof section of the observation car. You could try a chrome cleaner on a small smooth part of it like the skirting to see if a shine comes up. But these cars with ribbed/fluted extrusions don't clean up without a lot of work just to remove the cleaner (especially if it's a thick cream) from between the fluting. I tried looking up this set and got nowhere so I can't say whether it was originally advertised as having a shiny finish. Good luck Andre!

William's likely offered the cars in question to match what Lionel first produced in the post-war era. MTH also did this on some of their early 15" aluminum cars. Their DAP Congressional set for example. The bare aluminum extrusion with its inherent satin finish begins to dull out with age. Shiny anodized finishes on Lionel cars didn't come about until later in production and William's probably used the process as well to enhance their product.
As others have mentioned, metal polish brings up a shine but changes the intended factory finish. Dirt and staining is best removed with a scrub under the tap using a strong liquid cleaner like Spray Nine and a toothbrush. On the offhand that the finish is anodized then polishes are ineffectual and only require a scrub in dish soap to restore.

If they are the early models with dummy couplers which they appear to be in your pic, they command the least.
