This is the fabled 2003- 2005 Lionel TMCC Santa Fe F3. I call it fabled because it was issued in a time when Lionel made exquised equipment. The engines series 16, 18 and 19 are completely detailed and beautifully painted. All the doors open, exact detail on the trucks, and they have the original Odyssey system to control speed. They rev up without jackrabbiting and hold their speed up and down inclines. Because it was early in the modern era there are some limitations. #1 the crew talk is very poor, #2 The smoke unit is not adjustable and you can fill your room with smoke in a heartbeat and a small #3 the cab lights cannot be turned off.
Enjoy the video.

WOW WOOD glad you are feeling much better and are on the mend. Relax and run some trains. After that scare, trains will get your mind off of it.

Wood refers to the "fabled" TMCC Santa Fe F3 Warbonnet set and I agree. Here's part of mine in a comparison snapshot I did with the much later Legacy E8:
And for good measure here's a car I am sure Wood is also partial to, as am I:

Thank you Adam in regard to the video. I tried to take another one this morning and my phone has run out of storage. I need to pick up an SD card for it so I can keep adding pics and videos. Harborbelt70 Andy, I bought that E8 and really loved it, but it would not navigate my curves. With disappointment I had to send it back. And look below to see that other favorite line the NYC. I guess I should just say I love all model train lines and just don't have enough money or room to create a stable of each line.

My interest had dampened on the Santa Fe until two friends on the forum tuned me on to the Super Chief sets. Now they run frequently and I am so grateful for their help. They have become very special to me.

Running trains and hanging around the layout calms all my worries. Almost everyday I will go down to the "Blessed Basement" and hang out or do something small just to keep my mind quiet.

You have to find a set of the MTH Sante Fe red Warbonnets that have the bright trim, Wood.

I'm so glad Wood is back home and feeling well. He is the most genuine person I've ever known and we would be lost without his forward-thinking leadership. I came across this picture from his OGF Live presentation at York awhile back. It's amazing just how forward-thinking he really is. Emile
