We have many Joe's who are active on the OGF and who also love cars, but in this case I am referring to Joe Nahhas. Joe is a new member to the OGF who I met in my search to complete our Car Show improvement project for the Christmas in the City portion of our layout. He also was a big help to me in assisting another OGF member build his car inventory for his layout that is in the construction phase. Joe found car/vehicle items for our OGF member that are extremely rare and very hard to find. I know a little bit about how to find the difficult models, but Joe is the expert.
Shortly after he joined the OGF, another member posted that he was looking for a 1956 or 1957 Oldsmobile Holiday that he had been on the hunt for a long time. Joe found it.
So if you are looking for a special model vehicle for your layout, post to this thread the year/model/make of just what you would like Joe to try to find for you.

In 1971 my Dad bought a new Mercedes 300D black 4 door sedan (I guess). It was his favorite car and he drove it for years. My brother sent me a much used picture of it this week. Dad was in the insurance business and handled a wholesale seafood account located in Wanchese, NC that was owned by the Etheridge family. They also operated Etheridge Seafood Restaurant located not far away in Nags Head. The business relationship became a very good friendship between the families and several of Dad’s grandchildren waited tables during the summer at the restaurant during their college years. One, my son, dated their granddaughter for years before falling for someone else who became his wife. Ricky Lee, Will, and many of the cousins remain friends. We have an Etheridge Seafood building for the layout and figures to represent Dad and the Etheridge’s. But we have to have the Mercedes. Joe is really good. Give him a try.

Bill, we collaborated on this search for a 1971 Mercedes Benz C 300 in black. Nothing on the market in 1:43 scale that we could find for that exact model. But, this one looks close to it in appearance, though it is a 1968 model. Let's us know what you think.

The 1970 Road Runner Convertible in black was only made in 1:64 & 1:18 scales. Nice looking model, but not the scale you are looking for. We found two 1:43 scale 1966 Dodge Darts, one in black that is a Spanish Police Car. I suppose you could modify it. The other, your wife may like in pink. But that's it in 1:43 scale.

This is a fantastic addition to OGF, well done. I could think of a few things, including in die cast cars, that I might like to track down, but I better NOT add to what I have already got!

Thought that you were working on North Pole today.. You worked magic again. Perfect match! Dare I ask how much? Like it matters with this one. You found the missing link. Thank you, thank you. Here’s the scene the car completes: Etheridge Seafood, (Paula just said that Dad would love that car), Bluewater Yachts (Joel worked there, Viking dealer, I was at Hampton location yesterday), Manteo Courthouse and Floyd’s Barber Shop from Andy Griffith show (Andy had a home in Manteo and Paula’s family were friends. She knew him), and a beach scene from Hatteras Island with a Hatteras Marlin Club flat including Assurance at the dock, and people clamming on a sandbar. Lastly is Logan’s Ice Cream (Nags Head) with Harry’s ice cream shop. Didn’t realize it but almost every piece is sitting on the layout now. Paula can handle this. Group clamming Assurance Logan’s Ice Cream

Andre I did not realize that. They were fun to build.
Our family loves the OBX. Some like the cottage at Southern Shores. I prefer Hatteras because the Gulf Stream is closer/fishing is better and the place is far less crowded.

Sweet and no sensation of speed.
Thanks.

The news is not good, Laz. The 1965 Dodge Little Red Wagon was only made in two scales, 1:64 & 1:25. Can't find what was never there.
