This arrived Thursday and I just opened it up today. It is a New York Central T3a made by 3rd Rail. The real engine was powered by third rail system and they worked in and around Grand Central Terminal in New York City. This is a 3 rail version produced in 2013. I found a brand new one at Public Delivery Track in California. I hope to take some better pictures when I have it on my test track. Tom

Tom, That is a very unique engine. Always like it but could never find a way to fit it into my layout.
One nice thing is I had forgotten about The Public Delivery company. It used to be called The Western Depot and I had bought a few things from them. They have some great products. I just went to the site and ordered a couple of TTX flatcars for one of my consists. Thanks for posting this.

Thanks guys.
I curious to see how it performs on my planned curves. It is about 55 scale feet long, and has four trucks. My biggest curve will be O54 with O42 inner curves.
The engine has great detail. The handrails on the end platforms were bent a bit, but they straitened right out...

Beautiful engine! Even if I couldn't run it on my layout I would still love to have one.

Thanks guys.
It goes along with my MTH Cleveland Union Terminal P2, another NYC gem. We can never have too much NYC stuff!
Beth comes up with some unique stuff that has long sold out. It is always worthwhile to check her site for goodies now and then. Public Delivery Track.
