Most of the cable service appear yellow or orange. Were they really that color? Or were they Were red and the film faded over time? What about it N&W fans. Most likely caboose color behind a class A?

I assume "cable service" was an autocorrect error that was supposed to be caboose. If that's the case, they do indeed appear much brighter, almost orange, than they're supposed to be. Photos in the N&W Historical Society archive as linked below show the proper color to be a darker red as generally modeled. www.nwhs.org/archivesdb/detail.php?ID=148211www.nwhs.org/archivesdb/detail.php?ID=152430

I really like the JLC Y6b Lionel made a few years back... I sold one on ebay and the owner returned it on me... so I still have both.. must be a sign. JDaddy, that is a terrific scene of your layout. On first look I thought it was a real life picture. WOW! It was the third rail that gave it away.

Thanks for the video, John. It's fun watching those big steam engines do their jobs.

I finally got around to watching this video this morning. I agree, watching a steam engine work is fun and indeed mesmerizing.

He is a member of the Detroit 3 railer's. I wish my layout looked as good as his
