And check out these crazy upside down wig-wag signals in the video... an absolute must for the N&W modeler! I have never seen these before.

Bill has some great taste!
And did you see this crazy move with the caboose on the front? I think I would be very nervous riding on this one.

You sure that wasn't a video of Norm's layout?? I really enjoyed the sounds. It would make a great recording to play while running the steam engines.

I really like the JLC Y6b Lionel made a few years back... I sold one on ebay and the owner returned it on me... so I still have both.. must be a sign.

No suspect, they are dubbed sounds, but just a great video.

Great video and very realistic layout photo also.
The pictures west of Bluefield remind me of my early years. I was born in a Bluefield and Dad sold commercial insurance including to a lot of coal mines. We moved to Suffolk in 1957 when I was nine but I went to Va Tech which is an hour from Bluefield so I have stayed connected to SW Virginia and W Virginia.
If you enjoy this video, check out Herron Rail Videos. They have a large selection of excellent videos including a series on the N and W that consists of 6-7 DVDs of steam from West Virginia to Tidewater with extensive footage in the Roanoke area. I am holding one, “Pillars In the Sky,” which was originally filmed in 1957 by Mr E C Eddy on 16mm with sound recordings. Mr Eddy narrates the video.
It was found in a vault 45 years later and has been reproduced on DVD. We have the entire series and this is our favorite.
Check out Herron. If you like old railroading, they probably have something for you.

The sound was definitely dubbed in later. The steam mechanic in me cringed at a few points in the video at how off some of the sounds were in relation to what was happening in the video. Individually though, the video and recorded sounds are amazing pieces of history to have around for now and the future.
