Still up in the air for us too. However, no vaccine. No York!! We won't risk it. Individual States are opening things up too early. China had at least 2 waves of the damn thing that we know of. Take the time that is needed to get rid of it the first time around!! Will most likely rebook the rooms we have for this October for next April. Gary.

I just don't believe we will have a vaccine by October.

I just don't believe we will have a vaccine by October. I'm guessing Christmas, then it will take time to ramp up production and enough supply for everyone that wants it.

If we don't open now there will be nothing left to open. These Lockdowns are an utter failure. Sweden didn't shut down, Korea, Japan. The key is testing and if you get the bureaucrats out of the way, testing will become more available.

I think by the time York time comes around I think we will all be happy and York will go on as planned. Here in MI the big 3 can open back up next week. So this means I can buy trains then. Being hopeful.

The key is testing and if you get the bureaucrats out of the way, testing will become more available. The testing needs to be done. Both Israel and the Netherlands have claimed to have made great strides in their Research Programs regarding CV-19. Hopefully this is true!! In the meantime FOLLOW ALL OF THE PROTOCALS regarding PPE no matter what your individual State says or does. Here in Ontario our Premier is being very cautious about what will open and when it will open He is following what is happening in the States that are opening things up to the public at this time. If and when there is a second and possibly a third wave of CV-19. right back to square one. Since this BEAST is also transmitted by touch, wear gloves in the grocery store when purchasing anything as people will handle everything in the store. The same with door handles and gas pump nozzles. We have new guidelines and recommendations to wear masks and gloves when shopping. Grocery stores and Costco are just two examples. No PPE, No entry. The economy will survive Gary. Money is flowing into it right now. Food, fuel, hardware stores, take out from restaurants, and online purchases to name a few. Don't forget the large Baby Boomer population who have done well over the years and have saved for a good retirement and those of us with pensions. We will help to drive the economy greatly. We wear PPE wherever we go and comply with social distancing at all times. We would rather be around and frequent whatever will be open for business in the future than be 6 feet under. The choices are yours to make. Please make the right ones.... Look at the site below. www.theguardian.com/world/2020/may/05/israel-netherlands-studies-claim-progress-in-covid-19-antibody-trialsRegards, Gary.

Being hopeful. Being hopeful is good Rick. Being safe and practical is even better! Buying trains is good for the soul. Gary.

Yes, so much is still unknown. We booked flights and hotel back in January as we come from a long ways away (western Canada). I feel for the organizers of any event, trying to plan with all the unknowns. Locally they cancelled all summer festivals and concerts. I hope things change and we are a go for October as that will mean things have dramatically improved. Be safe everyone !

I booked my hotel reservations yesterday for the fall show. I can cancel them with no penalty. I doubt there is a show - but I hope so. We have to be safe first.

I go for what detail stuff and good deals I can find. My layout is almost finished so I don't need much. I just like making the trip and seeing what's there. I'm retired so it's a good way to spend a day. I agree with those of you who say the country is opening too soon, though. The local hobby shop is never so crowded that I can't put some distance between myself and other customers, but that's hard to do at York. Here's hoping we can nip this thing and the October show is a go!

I think we are all hoping for this. Again, welcome to the OGF. Glad to have you here.

I would like to attend York sometime butt its an 8 hour drive for me. Then I would have to go and see the horse shoe curve on the way home. We do the same twice a year- 9 hours. In the fall with the Penn State game, sometimes its impossible to find a hotel. We spotted this bad boy at the curve last year. Key is to find and ride with others!
Awesome photo!

Thanks! You never know what your going to see at the Curve. My Colleague booked our reservations in Hanover. So we are good to go for October. The disturbing thing is now their cutting our pay - a lot. So any train funds are gone. If we make it, I will not be spending much.
