The ATSF 3000 is the best steam locomotibe ever produced for us O-Gauge 3-Railers.
I love the Sante Fe F units, but the 3000 is the clear winner.

In the first round matchup I've already said everything I could possibly say - and maybe more - in favor of the AT&SF #3000. There's only one steamer left in the competition that can take it on and it's not the Y6B. But to be fair, the Lionel TMCC F3s have probably had more of a lasting impact on the 3 rail O gauge hobby than any other class of engine. This is a whole class of models unto itself and I suggested confining it to the TMCC versions because Lionel totally messed up the latest Legacy versions. My Dad had a conventional Pullmor-powered A-A set when I was a little kid several score years ago and it was the first set that got a lot of run time from me. I remember that they looked like this one complete with the battery hole and round cover underneath: How the technology has come on since then - or at least did up to a point now some years ago. Anyway, when I got back into the hobby, an A-B-A Warbonnet F3 set from Lionel issued in around 2004 was the first thing I got. I like diesel smoke and light features and the TMCC versions were in certain respects better than what has appeared since from either Lionel or MTH. In the category of "little details matter" the Mars Light function on mine is superior to any later diesels I have. So here's 4.5 seconds of it: I'm still sore about Warbonnets losing out last year. I'm not saying which way I've voted this time.

Vote for the F-3
This is the icon of diesels and is certainly more important to history than a 2-10-10-2 that had the pulling power of a snail.
Remember in the 1950’s catalogs and the mighty F-3s blowing by the lumbering Sante Fe steam. Beautiful sleek styling against a steam engine that could never stand up to the eastern coal runs.
Vote Now for F-3 Victory!!!!
May the dice also favor the F-3.

I hope this one does not go to the infernal dice throws.

The problem with the SF F3 is everybody has made one. I'm the rare person who doesn't own one.

THE 3000 IS THE PREEMINENT STEAM LOCO EVER MADE BY LIONEL. PLUS I FOUND A 3000, NIB LOCALLY AND AS SOON AS CHERYL IS OUT OF ISOLATION WE WILL BE PICKING THE BEAUTY UP. HECK OF A PRICE TO BOOT! LOOK AT IT THIS WAY BILL, IT'S STILL SANTA FE ALL THE WAY!!!Gary.
