Not that I am a biased person, but my wife would expect the same... watch me now.. I'm walkin', I think is going off in her head... and all must heed. I think if you looked at statistics if middle aged women are struck more by moving vehicles more than men? just an observation later in life...

When I was living in Chicago, a taxi tried beat a CTA EL train and got fattened between the train and a building. At that point the tracks were ground level.

You really feel sorry for those who can't fathom the seriousness of pedestrian safety around railroads. Growing up beside McMillan yard and almost surrounded by other CN arteries meant railroad safety was everything. On those seldom occasions when trespassing was the shortest way 😉 a kid knew to exercise caution. My explorative nature has long passed as has contact with railroad property.
