In the middle of last December I ordered 2 dozen Camo colored OGF logo hats and 2 dozen yellow and black (Basically Pittsburg Steelers shades) OGF logo hats. The Camo hats were a stock item and just needed to have the logo embroidered on. They were Made in America and arrived early January in time to get the bulk of them distributed by mid-January. The Yellow and Black hats turned out to be a custom color combination. Considering the huge Pittsburg Steelers fan base, I was surprised that there wasn't a warehouse full of blank Yellow and Black hats. There weren't and the hats had to be ordered from China. They were promised by mid-January. I was OK with that. When they didn't show up I inquired and was given a new delivery date of February 14. No surprise, they didn't arrive by the 14th either. Now I'm told they will be delivered by February 28. I'm not holding my breath. What was interesting was the reason given for the latest delay: " They will deliver by 2/28. The coronavirus caused some disruptions in China with the factory and shipping. I will send tracking as soon as they ship" Coronavirus! That's not good. Looking to the future, this is going to be a big problem for those of us hoping for some of those Lionel Christmas deliveries. My experience is that "In time for Christmas" usually means "Delivered between December 28 and January 15, In time for NEXT Christmas." Factor in the Coronavirus and we can all forget about New Christmas Trains in 2020. If the Coronavirus can cause a 6 week delivery delay for 2 dozen hats, just imagine how long the Christmas trains are going to be delayed. In any case, whenever the hats finally show up, they should look pretty great. Perhaps they will even be here in time for Christmas!

Follow the WHO Quarantine Procedures and they should be good to go Emile. Apparently CV-19 can survive 6-20 days on surfaces!! Gary. From UCHEALTH:Can I get COVID-19 from packages sent to me from China?
No, Barron says.
“Viruses, including coronavirus cannot live outside the body for prolonged periods of time. Under the right conditions, including the right humidity and the right temperature, this virus might survive on a surface for 30 minutes. And that would be under very optimized conditions,” Barron said. "Any packages from China have traveled in extreme temperatures – either cold or hot – for many, many hours. And, even if someone with coronavirus sneezed or coughed on a package, the infectious virus would have dried up and died long before the package made its way to a recipient here."
But MedicalNewsToday reports:“Human coronaviruses can remain infectious on inanimate surfaces at room temperature for up to 9 days."
Whenever the hats do come in (if ever) I think I'll sit on them for a couple weeks. You can never be too careful.Emile

Well, the yellow and black hats will be worth the wait. Hopefully, before the York Meet.

Well, the yellow and black hats will be worth the wait. Hopefully, before the York Meet. I think I could swim to China, sew the hats myself, swim back and quarantine them for 2 weeks and still have them in time for York! It’s just 24 hats! I don’t understand why this is taking so long. I realize that labor is cheaper in China but there’s also a concept called:”The time value of money”. if the hats were made in the USA, they would already be sold and that money would already be reinvested in the next thing. It just doesn’t seem right.

The hats arrived today. Apparently they have been in Ohio for the last month. I assume that is where the embroidery work was done.
Anyway, they look great and are presumably COVID-19 free.
I expect them to go on sale this coming weekend. There will be an official announcement soon.

Yeah, I have been anxiously waiting for them to arrive. These babies will be very recognizable at the upcoming York Meet. Should prove to be a lot of publicity for the OGF.
Another good reason we are the leading innovators among forums serving the O-Gauge community.

Hhhmmmm ... made in China. Maybe it will fit my tiny skull? The Yellow and Black hats come in two sizes: medium/large (Size 7 ¼ and smaller) and large/extra large (Size 7 3/8 and larger) They have an adjustable velcro strap. The medium/large should be OK adjusted down to Size 7. While they can be adjusted for smaller than Size 7, I think the hat might not retain a nice looking shape at the smaller sizes. If these hats are popular, we will also order them in Small (6 3/4) in the next production cycle.
