Mike Wolf was at Pats Trains today demonstrating the new WTIU operating system. The system connected to Pats Trains shop layout worked flawlessly. Mike said they will be shipped to the dealers over the next couple weeks. Mike also stated a new web site is currently in programming and will be superfast for the users. I really enjoyed the demo and Mike gave a great preview of the new WTIU.
I asked Mike about tinplate and he stated it is being re-instated and the first offering is being reviewed by dealers for custom runs. That should be interesting. Mike stated that tinplate has always been his favorite category of trains.
Met and chatted with Mike's son-in-law. Really a terrific young man. He is completely new to electric trains and has been involved with learning all aspects of manufacturing, marketing, and distribution of MTH electric trains. Before joining MTH he was an oyster farmer up in the New England area.
Looks to me that MTH will be around for awhile.
