Bary, great that these items were scratch made, and well preserved. I'm impressed. I can't keep a box for a year without it being damaged. Alfred

My grandfather was very meticulous in everything he did. One of his sayings was "If you are going to do it, do it right or don't do it at all." After every year's display set up, each item was carefully dusted and packed away in boxes for next year. Items such as the zoo aminals and human figures were all wraped in cotton to keep them safe. And noone ever dared to touch anything in his display.
And now I'm trying to post another photo and am not finding a way to do it.

Barry, thanks for sharing and joining us. We are all about friendship and camaraderie, with trains being the common interest. Great first post and although I have seen those photos on Nextdoor (we are neighbors) they still are wonderful to see here. Adam Barry needs an assist.

I thought I posted a second comment about an hour ago and tried unsuccessfully to include some photos but that second post seems to have disappeared.

I just discovered my second post of over an hour ago in "Messages". I copied it and will paste it here so it is a continuation of my previous posts. Again, I don't see a way to add photos in this window.
I inherited my grandfather's train in the early 1950s when I was about 10 or 11 years old. He had died years earlier when I was only about 4 years old. I set about creating my own display using Plasticville items that were Christmas gifts, most likely from the previous year. These photos are labeled 1954, so I was 11 years old.
And I'm not remembering how I added photos to my post before. I want to grab them from my computer but that's not working. I'm being asked for a http://
And am I adding this onto my previous messages or is this one going somewhere else? I'm having a lot of trouble navigating this site.

In other words if you are using a mobile device such as a smart phone or tablet, you won’t be able to post photos by default. Just scroll to the bottom right of the page and click on desktop. Then the controls to upload photos will appear.

Somehow, I cannot find any photos of my childhood layouts. We took so many photos back then in the 1960s, hard to believe we never took a photo.

Thanks, Adam. I'm using a laptop now, and must have posted the previous pictures from my desktop at the office when I was there. I am not finding anything by scrolling down this page. I'll try again using my office desktop. Thanks for your help.

The three photos above are from 1954. I was 11 years old. This was my first attempt at learning how to put all the pieces together.

And some prewar trains in the pictures. Do you still have them. I was given several prewar trains in the late 40s I still have mine.
