Some of my favorite threads are stories and photos of your layout builds, whether it is a brand new layout or an expansion or modification of an existing one.
So if this involves one of your ongoing projects, please share your story and photos with us.
Thanks.

Brian,
Photos on my progress will come shortly. I'm moving forward with elevating the Standard-Gauge track on my layout, but with a new twist that should minimize the "top-heavy" look. Bottom line, elevating (and now completely reconfiguring) the Standard Gauge mainline is going to greatly enhance running capabilities. It will enable me to add a third O-gauge mainline, as well as reversing loops for both O-Gauge and Standard-Gauge; those features will, in my opinion, greatly offset any top-heaviness of Standard-Gauge running elevated over O-Gauge. This is going to be a fun project.

I'm almost ready to break ground. A few more minor revisions with Jim Robinson of Bridgeboss, and then the fun starts!! Since this is predominantly a tinplate layout, I may end up putting it in the tinplate section in hopes that it will generate some more activity there.

I would highly recommend that you post is in both the Tinplate Board and the Main O-Gauge Board. That way, you cover all of the bases. This is important as you also run O-Gauge.

I started this layout (the Southeastern & Chesapeake, 12x17 around the room) several years ago and was making decent progress for awhile. Then I lost my spark, so to speak, and things went dormant for a couple of years. With my son getting his driver's license just before the holidays, I suddenly found myself with extra time since I no longer have to be his taxi driver. The spark came back and I'm trying to get things moving again. I had the area between the wall and the upper line pretty well done except for the one end. I have a couple ideas I'm mulling over for that. I want to get the front portion done and am currently working on getting it sceniced. The picture is from a few days ago. Hope to have it finished soon. Then I think I'd like work on the lower loop and get that running. We'll see how things go.
